Kilkeel are still on course for a hat trick of trophies for the season after booking their place in the Anderson Cup final on Thursday night with a 3-1 penalty shootout win over Belfast Harlequins following a 2-2 draw.

They will now meet Instonians in the decider after they defeated Mossley 2-1 in an equally tight encounter.

William Robinson put Inst ahead from a penalty corner after 10 minutes but Jordan Robinson levelled before the break before Dane Ward grabbed the winner with just two minutes remaining.

In the other semi, Kilkeel led 2-1 at half time through Mark Stevenson and David Rae, with Luke McClelland replying for Quins. Chris Lemon sent the game into a shootout with a 46th minute equaliser but Kilkeel held their nerve to pull through.

Meanwhile, Ulster's men and women will be out to retain the silverware at the junior interpros in Cork at the weekend.

Women's coach David Menaul said: "The preparations have gone well. The team have played five practice games and are gelling together nicely on and off the pitch."

"Trying to predict how Junior Interpros hockey will go is difficult as all teams have a high turn over of players each year so it always a case of entering the unknown in terms of us and the opposition."

"What I can say is the team is very excited about representing their province and will work incredibly hard to try and make it a successful weekend.

"The message we have been saying to the girls is to be successful at interpro level we will need our full quota of 18 players to be preforming at a high level so singling our individuals as key players is not how our team works. All 18 players are key for us."

Meanwhile there are a host of junior cup and plate finals taking place at Stormont over the weekend.
Pegasus II have already got their hands on one of the trophies, having beaten their Harlequins counterparts 3-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Shaw's Bridge on Wednesday night to lift the McConnell Shield.

In an extremely close contest, Quins twice came from behind with goals from Katherine Welshman and Jaci Adamson after Suzanne Ferris and Kaitlyn Harvey had scored for Pegasus.
