Youth Blitzes Return!

Youth Hockey Blitzes start with a BANG!

The 24th of September saw the start of the Youth hockey blitzes across the province. With 8 hosts, including both girls and boys blitz venues there was plenty of youth hockey on show for the large crowds that gathered at each blitz venue.

The standard of hockey on show was fantastic and this is a great credit to club coaches, volunteers, parents and young leaders. Also having the newly qualified Young Umpires out was a great success and we hope to see them throughout the youth hockey season.

Youth hockey blitzes are a great opportunity for young players to get out and play teams from across the province. They are designed with fun in mind and thus scores aren’t recorded and everyone gets on the pitch to play the sport we all enjoy.

A massive thank you to all host clubs. Without you guys these days wouldn't be made possible.

The next round of blitzes is on the 15th of October with both Lisnagarvey and Annadale (Grosvenor Grammar School) hosting for the boys. We then have a full catalogue of hosts on the 22nd of October with Dromore, Belfast Harlequins, Ulster Elks/Mossley, Cookstown and Ards all hosting for the girls and Banbridge hosting for the boys.

If you require any information about these blitzes or about how to get involved please get in touch with Andrew Brown (
