Governance

The Ulster Hockey Union (known as 'Ulster Hockey') is the Governing Body for Hockey in Ulster with its office at the Pavilion, Stormont Estate, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, BT4 3TA.

It was established in June 2009 with the amalgamation of the Ulster Branch Irish Hockey Association (UBIHA) and the Ulster Women’s Hockey Union (UWHU).

Ulster Hockey is governed by its Constitution, which is available as a download. This outlines the structure of the Union, including important information on decision making processes, voting procedures, and the formal proceedings of the Annual General Meeting.

Ulster Hockey has a Management Board of thirteen (13), who serve out specific roles and responsibilities, according to their area of expertise. The Management Board meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month, or more regularly as need arises, to set strategy and policy, and monitor performance.

The Ulster Hockey Strategic Plan (2009-2013) outlines the structure of the sport's governance in Ulster. The aim is to raise understanding amongst all those involved in the sport at all levels, and, in turn streamline our governance through effective communication and increased awareness of decision making processes.

Ulster Hockey operates under the guidance of comprehensive policy documents.
